winter couplet was created for the 2002 los angeles freewaves festival, and was installed in a former furniture store that had been abandoned and derelict. the sound composition was made using the sounds of two tea cups; and was played through 8 small speakers connected to alternating 4 ft. & 3 ft. cardboard tubes. the tubes acted as resonators and were inspired by the work of architect shigeru ban. the room was almost completely dark, lit with only a red light on either end of the space.
