cosmic dancer was created using found microscope photos from the 1930's. the images were laid out in several different sequences based upon visual similarities, and then animated with stop motion / single frame animation.

the soundtrack is made from fragments of the first note of several different versions of the t-rex song cosmic dancer. these note fragments have been processed electronically and abstracted.

these images are from the installation at the orange county museum of art in the summer of 2001. the film was projected on a free standing 9 x 12 foot wall in a dark room as part of the 'one wall' series of video installations curated by christopher miles.

cosmic dancer, in marc bolan's words, is 'a song about reincarnation'.
